I never watched the original (never being a fan of Swayze), so can't compare both productions. This was a good enough movie and I didn't see anything very patriotic. Actually, there was only one American flag and showed only at the very end and discreetly. So, no USA, USA, USA--which, to tell the truth, I don't think it is a problem, since patriotism is something very healthy. :-) Now that I watched the remake I am going to get the original. (And, hey, God bless America!)

Didn't care for the original and the remake is only a little better. USA. USA. USA.. God bless America and all that. I think the Big Bad Villains were North Korean's with a couple of Russian throw in, like that matters at all. The part with the kid with a homing beacon stuck in him toward the end was just brilliant writing.

Overall this movie is not bad, not great either but I think it was still good. Comparing it to the original, I think it holds it's own.

Proves once again that some movies should never be remade. If you haven't seen the original Red Dawn it's worth watching and pass on this one - it really isn't worth waiting for.

Not bad. Not believable but quite entertaining.

Do yourself a favor, watch this remake before the original because the original is 10 times better. None of the characters in this movie were likable, the action was outrageous, and i'm a fan of action movies.

It was a good movie but it was too short. The story was rushed and the ending left you hanging. Overall it was good.

a must see if ur a fan of the 1st one.a lot of action.its a remake but hands down its own movie.
