High expectation, low delivery. Spookiest game ever made, decent first movie, but average sequel in the horror genre. They did not get my money however, I took it out from the Brooklyn Library so it was worth the price.

I remember being so elated that there was going to be a movie made of the Silent Hill games and I thought the first one was absolutely incredible. Of course it had special effects, but much of the set and even the monsters were all modeled by hand. The movie was artistic, beautiful, and the acting was fantastic. Unfortunately, this one was nowhere near as good. the acting was very campy, the effects were somewhere in the middle, and they did a less than stellar job of explaining the story line. The only reason I knew what was going was because I played through all the games and the idea of Silent Hill makes better sense to me because of it. This being said, I was still able to watch the whole thing and it wasn't *horrible*. Just disappointing.

The effects in this movie were top notch. The creature effects and the settings were creepy and just dripped Silent Hill. The story was all over the place and the acting was ho hum. Looked great. That is the draw here. Don't expect to be scared, but I was entertained.

I agree, it was highly confusing and i became alittle lost and yet, the sense of the movie: the chills feel very terrifying, something I like in my horror flicks, the least it can give to many viewers and S.H fans. This movie totally deserves 4 1/2 stars. Bravo, Open Road pictures!

No doubt the graphics, characters and make up were great. Characters reminded me a little of those from the Hellraiser movies. But 4 of us watched it together and all of us found the story a bit confusing. Still worth the watch but may be even better if you have actually played the game.
