Add a CommentNot as great as I hoped it would be,.. BUT still it was worth the long wait at the NYPL . The premise is a stretch, but once past that,.. it kept me thinking, and interested.
Tedious!
Interesting premise but not chronologically connected the way it should have been.
Somebody sweep 'Looper' into the pooper scooper. The non-stop violence will send anybody who's awake into a blank stupor. Levine is a past, present and future not so super trooper.
Fun to watch, but not very challenging. I guess there was too much the audience was supposed to take on faith. Curiously I think it needed to be grittier and not need to "fill in the blanks" initially with explanations. The director's first film 'Brick' was so much better becasue it didn't pander.
The plot was interesting, but the cinematography was dark and very distracting -- it is almost like most of the film was shot at dusk which made it difficult to see what was on the screen. Yes, an interesting technique, but wouldn't want to watch it again ..... or even the first time ..... and I AM a sci-fi fan.
I did return this DVD on Monday. Annemarie Brown
This was one of the best movies I had seen in a bit. The was an actual point/moral at the end. A statement of sorts. Aside that, there was good acting and a good story line. As for great, only you could decide that.
As far as an action and adventure movie Looper is very entertaining. The time travel aspect of the movie was confusing and theoretically impossible. One cannot be two different entities at the same time. In other words the future and present self would never meet at the same moment in time. Time travel theory aside the movie has a good storyline as well as a surprise ending.
Very good movie. Ending was unexpected.
