The OPL has two versions - one with only french sub-titles and one with English. It's hard to tell from the cover - one has to search the fine print on the back to be sure of english sub-titles.
The dvd has English subtitles.
Just to be clear - this version of the movie has NO ENGLISH SUBTITLES, only French.
MAY BE A TRUE STORY. DID NOT LIKE FRENCH SUB-TITLES. DISSAPOINTED.
What an incredible movie. One of my favorite movies I've seen so far this year. A must see. It's worth it even to have to read the subtitles throughout the movie.
A delightful surprise of a movie. Charming, uplifting, at moments hilarious, also well acted and well written. HELPFUL NOTE: Several people have noted difficulty in viewing subtitles. On most new DVDs there is at the beginning (usually after the previews) an options section, which includes "Set-Up." If you can't see it, reformat your screen resolution until you do. You can always go back. This section offers you choices of language and of subtitles. English is frequently listed as "for the hearing-impaired" but I find it useful for various difficult-to-understand accents and dialects.
Wonderful movie, beautifully done. True story with comments on their lives afterward at the end of the movie. Re comment by Turbo72: English subtitles are on this OPL purchase, and once you start watching a movie, you never notice the subtitles.
It's now on Cogeco VOD so will check to see if has English subtitles.
