Not as funny as his Paris movie. Balwin's bit was lifted right out of his Bogart movie. I'm a big Woody fan, but this one pales in comparison to his last and more inventive one.
the best things about this movie were the beautiful lovingly filmed postcard perfect pictures of Rome ... and Roberto Benigni! 2 of the 4 stories being told were consistently funny but the other 2 were very uneven. None of the stories overlapped so the splicing of them didn't really make sense -- maybe it would have been stronger storytelling if they had been 4 succinct short stories with Rome as the common setting. great music!
Very funny movie and great cast. This one and Midnight in Paris are two of the best movies Woody has ever made.
Tried to like the movie but it was way too convoluted and not interesting.
Not the worst Woody Allen movie ever. But it's far from the best. Some cute moments. A waste of such a great cast. I did really like the Alec Baldwin bits. I thought that was the best story-line, and the closest to Woody Allen greatness. The rest was just too campy.
loved it!!!
Nothing major but enjoyable.
Parts of the movie are not in English. the subtitles were too fast and below the bottom edge of the screen making the movie less than enjoyable.
Oh stay away from this stinker. Woody should have left Rome to the Romans. No love here.
