Add a CommentMeh. This movie was OK. Not a huge fan of Wil Ferrell, but he does a passable job as the sleazy congressman.
Just watch the trailer for all the funny parts. It will save you a lot of time not going through this entire piece of turd.
Zack is new for me, but he made me laugh as well. This movie should have included children to watch because it's funny and could be home educational to let our children know why Matty Huggins was chosen at the end of the vote regardless if Cam Brady was the winner. Don't ask me about the two sexual parts for children, but everything else was kid friendly.
Funny movie but a lot of sexuality and vulgar language. It is rated 14A so my daughter who just turned 14 watched it the day before me. If I had seen it first, they would NOT have watched it. I thought it should be rated R for the sexuality and language.
I found “The Campaign” to be very telling of American politics today and an amusing enough film to watch at least once.
Watched this movie for about ten or fifteen minutes then stop it and ejected it. What a waste.
Well, from the look of this comment list, I appear to be in a minority, but I thought this movie was pretty damn funny. Compared to all the other mentally challenged drek out there that depend on fart jokes and tween mentality sexual humour, this stands out worthy of some type of plaudits.Galifianakis really shows off his comedy chops and as for Ferrell, I'm just glad that he has avoided the "Saturday Night Live", Death March (can anyone say Adam Sandler ?). The villians of this film are obviously a thinly veiled stab at the truly evil Koch brothers. The truly sick thing, though is that the nightmare scenario referred to as, "Insourcing", for tension in this film is ACTUALLY taking place here in Canada's resource industry under the Harper government. "When we said the Tar Sands would provide jobs, we didn't mean for Canadians!" Oh well, have a laugh, I did, and I don't usually with Hollywood's so called,"comedy'.
Stupid, vulgar movie. Should expect from Will Ferrel
Will stop going the way of Adam. Making bad movies out of boredom.
This is not a great movie but it has to be complimented for making fun of politics, campaigning and Americans in an election year. Just the fact that they ridiculed "Support Our Troops" made the film more courageous than 90% of the other stuff out there. There was some interesting visual comedy (like the baby punching and the snake bite) and, as for the swearing, they have to be applauded for addressing the way we THINK if not what we actually say. They criticized propaganda and the political process! Good for them. Yes, the ending wasn't believable.
