What a lame-o movie. We usually give movies 20 minutes to grab us. I would've switched off right then but my husband wanted to watch a bit longer. About half an hour or 40 min. in, he, too, realized that no, this was never going to get any better. Terrible script, terrible acting, improbable situations and people trying way too hard to be funny. Very strained and awful. Cringe-inducing. Not worth any time at all out of your life - you will never get back the minutes you spend watching this. If you want to see a GOOD movie kind of like this, get Love Actually instead. That is how it's done, my friends. (And even that has its lame-o moments. It's hard to tell several different stories in a movie and make each story worthy.)
I really enjoyed this movie, especially the storyline with Zac Efron and Michelle Pfeiffer......he was so sweet!!
Fair – New Year’s Eve (2011) 118 min. To think with such a cast, they could find something better for these actors to do. The film never takes root and stays very safe throughout as though the studio execs needed to rush through a 2 hour film and not have to think about it. The comedy is very tame; the plot is very forgettable. There are some sentimental moments in the film that left me hanging. Not a bad film to watch while flipping through a magazine.
I expected to be disappointed with this movie. But I wasn't. Chick-flick, no doubt. But it kept this manly man interested through the end.

There was nothing great about this movie, but it was fine. Unlike so many of the movies out now, it wasn't full of sex and foul language, which was nice.
We are all dumber because of this movie....but right on par with Scorpion King 3.
